This a comprehensive online art course. In this course we get a good overview of different materials, learning from scratch and journeying towards creation of a fully composed artwork. It includes

Watercolor is a very versatile medium known for its spontaneity and translucence and especially for its immediacy of result. It is both easy and difficult to master watercolor, this course we will delve deep into different forms of art, types of watercolor painting, basic drawing techniques that will help in the final result of the artwork and we will also take a tour of the history of art. At the end of this Advanced Art Masterclass course, you will be able to compose different ideas, draw and sketch the idea, place or thing with ease and paint it with watercolors.

This comprehensive Advanced Art Masterclass will help the student to not only understand the materials, the mediums and styles but to also create their own style of creating artworks. This course will also aim at understanding inspiration and how to draw inspiration from our surroundings, stories and more to be able to keep creating.

This Advanced Art Masterclass is aimed at beginners from age group 15 and above who are interested in a study of art, whether for personal use or to start as a professional.

This Advanced Art Masterclass will have 8 intensive classes of 2 hours each. It will include assignments and course materials and reviewing of art work.

Course Details

1. Basic Drawing Lessons (Class 1)

This will include the basics of drawing. Complete with materials used and techniques. From practicing lines to creating shapes and forms. Understanding shadow and 3D objects. This will mainly include pencil drawings and sketching practices.

2. What is art (Class 1)

Understanding the basics of art, what is art and what are the types of art. Delving into a fun exercise to understand your own personal style of expression.

3. Creating Compositions (Class 2)

Here we will be learning to create interesting compositions that are both compelling and suited to the subject at hand. The composition completely depends on the kind of subject, concept or thought.

4. Color Theory (Class 2)

Color theory is the understanding of the color wheel, complimentary colors and hues, and shades along with what colors work best with each other. It will include assignments to understand this better along with applying this knowledge to all further artworks and creations.

5. Mixing Watercolours (Class 3)

This includes the most important technique of watercolors that is mixing the colours. Understanding each and every shade and how to create desired effects with a limited palette, it also includes how each kind of paint reacts with different paper mediums.

6. Texture and Patterns (Class 3)

Texture and Patterns are important for the aesthetic of the composition, to create layers and interest. This class will include how to create different textures with watercolor and creating patterns and also understanding which textures suit which subject matter.

7. Urban sketching and live sketching (Class 4)

Drawing from observation takes practice and is as much about looking as it is about drawing. You could be studying at an object close-up and in great details or a vast landscape. Whatever you are drawing the aim of the exercise is to look, and translate what you’ve seen into marks on paper. This will include a demo and practice of how to draw on the go.

8. Inking and line work (Class 4)

Line work is used in drawing and sketching, this includes inking either with brush or with pen. There are many varieties of inking, this course will give a basic understanding of the types of inking and assignments to discover and practice the same.

9. Sketching still life (Class 5)

Sketching still life is very important for the field of illustration as this will be applied when compositions are created, All the sketching of the surroundings will help create the world in which the characters reside.

10. Drawing inspiration (Class 5)

This will include how to draw inspiration from everyday life. From movies, music, surroundings and everything you can see around. Inspiration is the key to all art, without inspiration an artist cannot express creatively compositions. So here we learn how to draw inspiration from everything we see in our lives, from nature, to movies, to music album covers to patterns and furniture.

11. Creating florals / Animals or any other preferred subject (Class 6)

This includes creating aesthetic floral designs and illustrations and creating patterns.

This could also include drawing animals and creating a wholesome composition.

12. Understanding materials. (Class 6)

Material understanding is extremely important skill, once we understand different materials to use, we can create and develop our practice which will have better results. This will include create a swatch sheet and a reference

swatch to carry while sketching.

13. History of art (Class 7)

This will include a brief history of art, concentrating on mainly watercolor artists of yester years and also exploring contemporaries.

14. Creating a Large composition (Class 7)

This will include creating a large composition and painting it in watercolor. This could be anything the student wants, from a bazaar , a cityscape, landscape , stiff life etc.

15. Recap and Q and A Session (Class 8)

This will include a quick recap and a discussion on any questions so far and any doubts to be cleared.

16. Creating Multiple Small size artworks (Class 8)

This will include creating multiple small sized artworks that can be used as a template for future artworks. Conceptualizing and researching inspiration and study material and creating a mood board to draw inspiration for future artwork.

This concludes the online course and all participants will have access to study material and will be included in a WhatsApp group with others, so a free flow of discussion can continue on after the course. The participant will also have one free pass to attend any offline workshop they chose in the near future.

The dates of the class can be pre planned but any changes in the plan can be informed from the participant to instructor a day in advance and or the instructor will inform the participant in case of change in time and date, a day in advance.
